Invenias is based on Microsoft Smart-Client architecture, which is designed to combine the powerful capabilities and benefits of the desktop environment with the advantages of a centralised managed hosted service.
Invenias software utilises the local dedicated resources of your machine and local cached data to deliver superior performance and availability, enabling users to work anywhere, anytime, online or offline.
Desktop Software
Invenias software is downloaded over the internet and installed on the client machine with the Microsoft .Net Framework and SQL Server 2005 Express. Software updates are automatically deployed to users as and when they are available.
The desktop software connects over the internet via https to a secure web service which enables it to synchronise with a hosted SQL Server database that supports multi-user distributed working.
Hosted Data Services
Invenias hosted data services consist of a secure web service and a SQL Server 2005 Enterprise database. Each company is provided with a unique web service and database, which are protected by client certificate authentication to ensure the highest level of security possible. All data is 128bit encrypted and transmitted over https.
The Invenias data services platform is managed and delivered by Cobweb Solutions using industry best practices and best-of-breed hardware to ensure an enterprise class solution. Load balanced and mirrored to ensure optimum performance and availability, Invenias servers are hosted in a World-Class Tier-1 Data Centre and are supported 24x7 by Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers.
Integration / API
Invenias supports easy integration through a comprehensive and flexible Web Service based on XML/SOAP standards to enable custom integrations.
This is the Microsoft recommended and industry recognised format, which allows developers to easily connect to a Web Service and utilise real-time integration capabilities that go beyond simple data sharing and enable you to deploy end-to-end business processes across applications.
Exchange, Windows Mobile & BlackBerry
Invenias is directly integrated into the core of Microsoft Outlook and therefore is able to utilise the extended functionality and mobile access provided by Microsoft Exchange Server and BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES).
